I'm a known independent and got 19% of the republican vote in my chairman race against Mr.Winn 2 years ago. I'm asking my 3,700 republican voters to "Vote Democrat" in March since I will be on (D) ballot in March primary. I'm a known progressive and active in Libertarian and other parties fighting "big government". I'm Clif Burnett,former republican,and I filed my candidate form on December 3 at Lubbock County Democratic Headquarters. Mr.Winn almost had "tears of joy" on the phone when I informed him I would do like Arlen Specter and "become a Democrat".
