There is NO LOCAL race of interest countywide. 2 County Commissioners races Guiterrez(R) vs Flores(Arnett Benson area)and Miller(D)vs McCay(R)in southwest Lubbock could have some effect on turnout but I'm skeptical that over 60% of the registered voters will vote. Obama may get both pro-Obama and anti-Obama voters to the poll but no republican candidate is energizing the "hard core" Christiam rightwing to go the poll. I personally will vote for Barr/Root(L)ticket for president/VP,Dwight Fullingim(D)for U.S.House and Rick Noreiga(D)for U.S.Senate. I have no county contested races in my precinct(46)except Robert Duncan(R)vs.M.J.Smitty(L)for state senate. I will vote for M.J.Smitty(L)since Duncan is a "big government" republican lawyer that is typical arrogant republican that doesn't hold public meetings or answer emails or snailmail. This election is simply put "BORING" with very few alternative selections provided by the(D)or(L)parties. I will vote early on Monday at United at 4th and Slide Road. Poll opens at 10AM there.
