In the 1982 Mark White/Bill Clements race there were bumper stickers with Democrats For Clements all over Lubbock. I suspect that Frank Guiterrez saw those years ago. So far democrats have complained about Bill McCay and Frank Guiterrez campaigns and neither complaint appears to have any substance. Democrats didn't deal with Gilbert Flores sign "irregularity" until another democrat(Ysidrio Guiterrez)brought a complaint. I've spent 3 days at the "Fair" talking politics at the (R) cube and we've given so many bumper stickers(McCain)away and free "R" little cubes with peanuts free that half of the county will have yardsigns, bumper stickers or cube-doorhangers. I even had 3 elected republicans "quiz" Chris Winn on "Why Is Clif Burnett here?" Those 3 republicans were Bill McCay,Patti Jones and David Guiterrez. Patti Jones even went as far as to say,"Clif,I am going to work here(at the "Cube")on Thursday". I ask Chris Winn,"Who invited her,Chairman?". He couldn't answer that one but he did shrug his shoulders and smile. The "Fair" continues through Saturday and most of the action will be at the "R" cube behind the restaurants before fairgoers get to the building where "Women Democrats" booth is. I was selling yardsigns for $1 and $2 but Chris Winn said "$5 on the signs Clif,we have to pay our rent here." The next "exciting thing" at "R" cube could be the long awaited Clif Burnett/Patti Jones "screaming match" over "big government"(Patti Jones vs "small government"(Clif Burnett). Head out to the "Fair"!
