Monday: The Todd Klein Show

I’ll be on Todd Klein’s radio show on KRFE AM 580 Monday Morning from 10-11AM to discuss the election returns from Saturday and whatever else comes up.

This will be my second appearance on the show. The last time was in February, and we discussed the intersection of technology and politics.

I’m looking forward to the show, and I hope you’ll tune in!

Todd Klein has become a “big joke” in the last few months. He invites me to townhall meeting and then “refuses” to take questions on “why” public record requests are being thrown away or simply “refused to be processed”. Todd Klein even uses Dale Holton in full uniform to intimidate citizens in same fashion Hitler used “Gestapo” at German rallies. Todd Klein is about as “useless” as Robert Pratt on the radio and hopefully will be voted out in 2010 and go on to become obscure like David Miller will.

I was at that meeting, and he didn’t refuse to answer you anything. He may not have had the information you wanted right in front of him, but he didn’t dismiss you despite what you claim on your blog.

If I remember right, you got mad and stormed out after asking your question. Everyone at my table was scratching their heads because we had no idea what you were asking about.

  3. Clif Burnett Says:

I ask if he received “briefing” on what public record was being requested. He mumbled’ I’d rather answer that question “one-on-one,Clif”. I repeated simple question.”Mr.Klein,Are you briefed on what public records are being requested?”. He stubbornly said,”No,I am not”. I moved to second question asking Ms.Dumbauld,”Do you believe EVERY public record request should be sent to Austin for review?” and “Are you aware that Chief Holton ILLEGALLY threw a public record request away recently?”. She refused to address Holton question and did say “If we have any doubt about a request being covered by public record act,we send it to Austin.”.Mr.Klein interrupted me after second time asking about “briefing” claiming there was a 2 minute time limit when my questions were short and concise and he was trying to avoid follow-up questions and put his “longwinded crap answers on my 2 minute time limit”. I ask 2 short questions and one twice that he finally answered. I said “Thank You” and walked out. You,being dense, have probably never done an open records request so more than likely you’re uneducated on how public record system works. I simply ask for NAMES and ADDRESSES of all paid and unpaid red light cam tickets.City denied BOTH lists for 2 1/2 months and were ORDERED to release lists in writing by Texas AG BUT Anita Burgess REFUSED complete addresses on BOTH LISTS violating AG order. Klein knew I was “hot” about this Open Records “sanitizing”. You democrats will defend each other even when the one you are defending is a “creep”. Klein is a “democrat creep”.I’ve nicknamed him “clueless”. Klein actually invited me to this townhall meeting personally at another function. Then he looks “clueless” on public records request being denied and then “sanitized illegally”. Your boy Klein is a classic,”I didn’t know,”dumb democrat”!

I assure you — I have a very good understanding of how open records requests work.

I don’t know what you expected to hear when you asked that question when you knew perfectly well what the status of your request was. Did you think that Councilman Klein could help you with a request that he didn’t have knowledge of? Did you think he could pull the list you wanted out of thin air?

It sounds like the City is giving you the runaround with your request, but I don’t think Councilman Klein has anything to do with that. And, from your own description, it sounds like he’s gone out of his way to help you out.

You must be dense. I ask “If he was being briefed” on what Open Records Requests Were being submitted by ALL people”. He refused at first and I asked point blank again and he said “No I am NOT being briefed”. He admitted he was not aware of who wanted what in public records. He is “not-in-the-loop” as to day to day operations. He gets briefed ONCE a week on activities and is not being told who ask for what and what the status is. He’s virtually “clueless” on what is going on at city hall. You are not an information blogger and I am. I have no less than 6 open records requests being denied now while you sit on your fanny and post political crap. Councilman Klein is not interested in serving anybody but himself and characters like you who don’t do anything to inform the taxpayers about the “peoples” business at City Hall.Klein is a “big joke” and could care less about what information bloggers get to publish. I specifically “asked” for all travel expenditures INCLUDING Todd Klein’s and City has “stalled” it out for nearly two weeks BUT City Travel office said “we sent that” to city secretary last week for you.Stick to political crap fella and leave the IMPORTANT INFO to us pros. You are a “democrat amateur”.

  6. Lubbock Left Says:

Why would the Council be briefed on every open records request received at the City Secretary’s office? That doesn’t make any sense. I hope your FOIA requests get resolved to your satisfaction, but I don’t see why the Council would be briefed on every single pending FOIA request.

I’m not going to trade insults with you. I will point out that I do post quite a bit of information on this blog, including election information, event information, and an analysis of the last 2 DeLeon recall petitions.
