I have to say that I’m pleased that Obama was the campus favorite!

(And I’m glad that Stephen Colbert was the favorite write-in candidate, too.)

ick. Hillary and Obama- two candidates who opted not to Vote on Mukasey… Vote Edwards!

I hear ya… I’ve been a little Obama-discouraged on account of how he is handling the Colbert campaign in South Carolina — putting pressure on the State Party there to kick him off the ballot. Guess the Obama campaign is very protective of his rockstar status among the college-age crowd, which, by the way, is one of my big reasons for supporting him.

Edwards is by far the best choice here guys. Let’s think this through.
Hilary has all the baggage that goes along with the Clinton name. She would be a great candidate if she wouldn’t unify the splintered GOP. If there is anything that can, it would be a Clinton at the top of the ticket.
Obama = youth, charisma, solid ideas but his inexperience is going to ruin him. I know the argument…inexperience can be a good thing, look at where it’s gotten us before. But here’s the reality. No Democrat has won a general election in modern history without carrying a southern state.
Enter John Edwards. He has everything that Obama has plus experience and geography. With the Bush’s still in control of Florida, I can’t place it in the Dems column. We need a North Carolina. Edwards can deliver!
    Just my .2$

I think that was very well put, Helmut.

Hillary gives me the willies. If we could re-elect Bill for a 3rd term, I’d be totally in support of the Clinton name, baggage and all. The problem for Hillary, in my opinion, is that it’s universally understood that she _is not_ Bill. I believe that everyone that will be voting for their favorite cola in this election are going to have an unpleasant surprise if New Coke wins.

Obama may very well fall to inexperience, but I just can’t shake the stars from my eyes at the prospect of that man being our president. Perhaps I’m a victim of rose-colored glasses, and a sucker for “the argument.” Or perhaps I’m starving for a well read, well mannered, classy, intelligent, stylish person with some experience with the English language to be our Commander-In-Chief.

There’s something about Edwards, I’m sorry I can’t be more specific than ‘gut feeling,’ that he could and would turn on us “on a dime.”
