Downtown Lubbock Stinks

I mean literally. I do a lot of work downtown, especially in the evenings when it’s nice and quiet and empty. Some nights it can stink so bad it’s like an open sewer.

I love downtown Lubbock and hope to see it grow. But, we as a community are going to have to do something about the awful smells of this place after 5pm some nights! I’ve been told it most likely has to do with the cotton ginning industry on the other side of the interstate. Other people have suggested that it’s the feedlots.

At one of the public downtown redevelopment meetings (what happened to the output of those meetings, anyway?), one gentleman I met said, “That’s the smell of money.”

Whatever it is, it’s gotta go before Lubbock has a happenin’ downtown.
